my truck shifts fine through 1st 2nd 3rd then stays in 3rd for a long time 3/4 of a mile or so then go's to over drive its a 5.2 w/45h trans

My 5.2L 93 w/ 46RH acts exactly the same way! I recently changed the fluid and adjusted the bands to no avail. Thinking about changing the speed sensor next at a cost of $105.00! Any suggestions for the fix for this problem would be greatly appreciated!
