Subject: loose rear end and low idle

I have a 96 dodge dakota 4WD extended cab. This truck will spin on a wet road even if you feather the gas. Is there anything I can purchase to stop this? I have seen some comments on a thing called a sure grip. Is it any good? How hard is it to set up. Do I have to measure and shim everything like my ford mustangs rear. I love to spin the tires but this thing is ridiculous. When making turns one tire will spin and almost make the truck go out of control. Also my RPM is only at 44. Someone on here suggested replacing the IAC. I did this and cleaned everything I was told to clean. The truck still idles at 400. This makes for a little shaky idle. If I raise it to around 600 or 800 where I think it should be it idles fine. Someone just told me they think it could be the map sensor. Does anyone know if this would cause these problems? Thanks for any help you can give.

Well, ANYBODY can spin just one tire.

"I love to spin the tires...."
You mean tire, don't you?

Get thee to a limited-slip differential store.

I believe "Sure-grip" used to be a trademarked name, like "Posi-traction" is for Cheby.

The more you spin 'em the easier it gets, huh? What kind of tires you have and hows the tread? Mechanically, consider the TPS or timing issue. Lots of 96 4x4 daks have your same equipment (more or less). You may or may not be LSD equipped, I was. I think you should trade in the steel toe boots for some crosstrainers! HE he. Oh yeah MERRY CHRISTMAS EVERYBODY.
