 Subject: Trouble w/ 95 4x4 5.2L Mag Tranny

Hi all,
I have been having LOTS of fun with my Dakota and several irritating problems. The primary one being the tranny. Hopefully, someone can help me out.
0) What tranny is this? The 46RH or the 46RE.
1) In the morning it doesnn't want to move. Putting the shifter into each gear momentarily helps this. After it warms up it has a stall speed right around 2000rpm.
2) A lot of hesitation during shifts. I replaced the filter and the fluid with Mopar ATF+3. It didn't help.
3) I am hearing a "sputting" noise in the cabin that sounds like an exhuast leak on the right side cylinders, but I can find no leak. Timing light on each spark plug shows that there is no miss. I am thinking that a bad plug may be shorted and therefore not firing. Also, there is a tapping in the engine. I think that I have a bad lifter and that maybe it is what is related to the exhaust sound. If I yank the lifters, it is a simple matter to clean them isn't it?
4) I am looking for parts for this truck. First, a used tranny. I am in LA, where is the best place to get a tranny?
5) I am also interested in many other used parts.

0 you should have the 46RH,The 46REs did,nt come until 96
1 sounds like the torque convertor is draining back after sitting awhile,putting a transgo or TCI shift kit in will help with this,
the stall sounds about right 1600-2000
2 shift kit here also
3 try a QT of trans fluid in the motor oil,this will help clean them,a exh leak on the head will sound much like a lifter ticking
4 i have a trans, but i,m in maine
5 what other parts are you looking for?
