 Subject: Swaping a 318 to 5.9 on a 4x4???

I want to swap out the 5.2 318 on my 97 club cab 4x4 for a 5.9 360 to gain more horsepower and torque... has anyone done this mod and if so was it easy/hard, or not even worth it?

It will essentially bolt right up. Need to make sure you have the balancer, as the 360 is externally balanced. I think you also need a flexplate for the tranny hookup. A 360 PCM will also be needed to run the engine properly. Stock wiring harness from a 318 will work fine.

I believe you can get a stroker kit. This will modify your 318 to a 360 or if you want more you can.
