 Subject: 4.7 help and dissapointment

Hello, i have a 03 cc red stampede witht he 4.7 and am alittle bit pissed off right now. I was on my way out to berkley (im in the california area) and i found somehting weird about my 4.7. I dont know if everyone else's thoes this but my speedo would let me go past 95. My foot was still on the gas and almost to the floor but my truck just wouldnt go past 95 miles per hour. I dont know why this is and what i have to do to fix this but i havent herd of anyhthing like this on the forum yet.
any imput is appreciated

it's called a speed limiter. so you can't drive faster than the tires are rated for. get a superchips tuner and raise the limit.

Sounds like the governor, my 02 quad 4.7 is at about 99 mph. The engine cuts out for a second or two.

CRAWL UP UNDER YOUR TRUCK AND UNPLUG THE REAR ABS SENSOR IF YOU DONT WANT A SPEED LIMITER. ABS AND BRAKE LIGHTS WILL COME ON AND THE SPEEDO WILL NOT WORK BUT YOU WILL BE ABLE TO GO PAST 95. AFTER ABOUT 50 MILES THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT WILL COME ON AND THE CODE SET WILL BE "NO VEHICLE SPEED SENSOR SIGNAL". BIG DEAL.

best thing would be to get a motorcycle that will do about 150mph, then open it up on the highway and suddenly turn towards the guardrail. Death will be a lot less painless and faster that way for you and you won't take out as many people in the process. If you want to race it on an approved track, then go get yourself a tuner and reprogram, or ask the dealer to reprogram it for you if you plan on not doing many mods in the near future.

Dealer won't change speed limiter - you'd need a custom PCM flash for that. Mine is now set to 256 (the max the programming will allow). I've already had the fast motorcycles, but forgot to crash into the guard rail - sorry peedee...

That post was a bit of sarcasm. LOL I love speed too, but I go for it in environments that are shared with other exerienced drivers, or no other drivers at all around me. I very much dislike driving with those who think life is a video game and all the players are replaceable. You don't seem to be that type, but many are and it certainly sucks.

My 119 MPH limiter is good enough for me. Not many places we should be driving over a 100.
I already got a ticket for 95 MPH last year just crusining on the I8. 20 other people were doing it too and we all got busted in a speed trap! No need for a faster ticket than that!
