hi everyone i have a really bad problem with the steering on my trucking. i can turn the wheel really easy to the left and take my hand off the wheeland it will spin until the tires are locked all the way to the left. Then i can do the same to the right and it will spin by itself all the way until the tires lock to the right. the truck is a 97 V8 4X4 extended cab dakota. I think that it is the steering box but im not sure if anyone that has had this problem before and know of a fix with out getting a new one. oh and if you do need a new one where is the most reasonable place to get one from. Thank you for all your help.

I would start with an alignment. SOund like you don't have enough caster dialed in.

It sounds like you are having a problem with the power steering pump pressure regulator, i believe the pump has a internal device that limits the amount of pressure that the pump puts out so it would not blow the lines and seals at higher rpms i don't know for sure but to me it seems as if you had too much pressure going to the steering box once you turn it a little the much higher line pressure would keep the steering wheel moving by it's self.
