I have a 1997 Dodge Dakota SLT Club Cab w/ 5-speed V8 engine, 90k miles. There is a "thump" noise when you release the accelerator during travel. It occurs when you release the accelerator to slow down. Appears to be coming from the engine compartment. Anyone have a similar problem - or know if this is a problem?

I'm having the same eproblem for nearly a year now. I have replaced the entire driveline, aside from the driveshaft and tranny mount. can't find it yet. I have a new mount to throw in and then we'll see.
