I currently own a '98 Dakota V6 and was wondering how hard an engine swap would be. I know the 5.2 would be the easiest of them all since it's basically a 3.9 with 2 extra cylinders. But what are the chances of me swapping in a 5.9? A Hemi would be pushin it since this thing's gonna be on bags. Or would it be possible? Just looking into some future options to get some more HP from my truck or when this engine decides to blow on me. Thank you.

5.9 will also drop right in. You will need a V8 wiring harness and PCM. You can splice 2 extra injectors into the existing harness, but I would just get a new one myself. You will also need to get bigger injectors. 5.9 engines are happiest with 21# or more.
