Honestly,

Althought it's a nice truck with some decent mods you arent going to see $16,500. Mods will not double the price of your truck unless you can see it to a private individual (hillbilly). I dont mean to slam here or anything but I honestly think you can expect to see possibly 8-9K for it.

But otherwisw it looks good.

thats true

most of the mods you did were cosmetic, paint, flames, grill etc. and some would like them and some do not. a 40 something or older is not going to be turned on by loud exhaust and a stereo loud enough to be heard 2 counties away. If you could find a Jesse James type that is into trucks you might get a good price for it, but otherwise you are asking way too much, KBB price for a fully loaded 4X4 CC 5.2 SLT is just around 12,000 and that is with custom paint and grill and custom bumper added too.

well i bought it for $16000 like about 2 years ago with 65k miles and put put over 5k into it. kbb put it up for $13500 and with all the sh!t that is on it i can prolley get like 15 for it. of course i probably wont get 16500 for it and i also doubt a 40 year old would want it. where did that come from? im in college and all there is in san diego is lifted trucks. most likely a some one younger would want it.

and dude are you serious i could and will get a lot more than 8 or 9k i dont know where u live but if it was still stock i could get 12.

anyway thanks for the imput guys

The point is, most people won't pay for modifications to the vehicle. I probably wouldn't either, especially if I want a different look myself. Also, as far as the loan, a bank will only give you about what the blue book is, which blue book will NOT include customizations. The loan amount they're willing to put out is usually based on the factory specs of the vehicle based on the VIN number. Was the 13,500 retail or trade-in? If it's retail, then I doubt you would get that much for it stock, because I could go to a dealer, buy the same used truck for $1500 less cause they'll sell it closer to the trade-in value, whereas you would want to get closer to the retail. Most of the time, selling it private, you're going to get somewhere between the retail and trade-in value. With nice modifications, and someone who appreaciates the mods, you can get close to the retail, maybe a little above, but not much.

i totally agree with u. blue book said 13,500 with out any mods. if i put it for sale at that price i would only get prolley 12 or less. i just need to find someone who will pay a lil more cuz of the mods. if i got 14 i would be happy.

Yeah, if you find someone looking for a nicely lifted Dakota, with what you used to lift and, and wants those tires, etc on it, I could see you getting around $14k for it probably, but that's just me. If I was looking for a lifted Dakota (done right), I would be willing to pay at least at the retail value, if not a little more. However, for appearance stuff, I normally wouldn't, unless I REALLY liked the looks. Just takes a little longer to sell like that, because you're not selling to the average buyer, you're selling to a select group (those who want a lifted Dakota/truck).
