 Subject: Clutch fan & iridium plugs

Pulled my clutch fan off last night. It seems to be doing okay on the electric right now, but it's only been in the 90's here in west texas. Still has the 195 thermostat. Also, I keep seeing posts about some iridium plugs. Specifically, what plug is this? How much would they help off idle hesitation? Appreciate any help or comments.

Other than gaining 1 or 2 hp, what are the advantages of removing the fan clutch? Has anyone noticed an increase in gas mileage?
