When i go over small bumps, enter driveways, etc, it feels and sounds as though there is something a little loose front end wise. Any ideas. I have had people riding in the back asking mew if something is loose or vibrating. Is there any known problems with front end ? Shocks loosing the rubber bushings ????

Gary,

The following are the things i would check. Easiest way take it to an alignment place and ask them to check before alignment.

1. Ball Joints (Upper and Lower) control arm - can be checked at the alignment shop by the mechanic that is going to align your car.
2. Make sure the nuts holding the control arms are tight. (Mine were loose mad cluncking noise like you described)- can be checked at the alignment shop by the mechanic that is going to align your car.
3. Brake Pad retaining clip
4. Steering knuckles - can be checked at the alignment shop by the mechanic that is going to align your car.
5. While your at it spray some Lilitium Grease on your sway bar bushing. See if the sound goes away. (However, this is more like a screeching sound)
6. Do circle 8 in a parking lot. (If you here clicking it could be your cv half shafts)

Its the clips that hold your front pads in the calipers. They rust out and the pads rattle against the rotor. I had the same problem. Told the dealer what I thought was causing it. They didn't listen; replaced two ball joints, control arm and steering rack all on warranty. Drive over those small bumps with the brakes on, no noise then your clips are rusted out.

The entire front-end is suspect. Try the suggestions made here to see if you can find something specific to tell the dealer. Then they can replace the bad part along with the rest of the front end that is junk. Also, beware that the caliper bolt holes in the spindle are known to strip. So, if you have any brake work done, or do it yourself, beware! Elsewise, you'll be finding yourself in a bad situation...

Had an upper ball joint replaced by the dealer, but had the joint at the steering wheel and steering rack replaced also. It would feel like a tap in the steering wheel during turns or wheel impact.

I must say, Take it to a good alignment specialist. Because, they have to make sure that nothing is worn or loose before they can do a alignment. They have to check for play in upper and lower joints, as well as your steering nuckles before the car can be aligned.

So, find a good shop.
