I have a 1992 Dakota 2wd. I have been lookng everywhere for a wiring diagram as both my heater blower and power windows have quit working. I have a feeling there is a short considering that both of the fuses (F1 and F2) are located right next to each other. However it lok slike there are only 2 options here the Haynes manual which does not get good reviews and going to the dealer and getting an actual wiring repair manual from the dealer which is $$$$, can anyone help here????

This is the number to order an FSM from Chrysler. Cost is pretty reasonable these days on a 1992 FSM.

Sneezer, thank you very much and sorry for the late reply here. I received my FSM last week but just got around to working on issue last night, found that the problem was a burnt wire located in the steering column wire harness. WOuld have never found it without FSM, which by the way should be the first pruchase for anybody having electrical problems on the dakotas!!!!!

Hey! I'm having a problem with my 92 dakota too. It's a 2wd, with a 5.2 V8. Problem is that it won't idle. When I start it in the morning it's fine until I get to the first stop sign. As soon as I let off the gas to go for the brake, it dies. I can crank it back up, but I have to keep the engine reved or it will die. Any ideas guys? Thanks! =)

How many miles on the truck?

3 things to look for.

1. Blown plenum or belly pan gasket. Take off your airbox. Open the throttle valves on the throttle body and look inside the intake. If there is oil inside and/or heavy black sludge buildup, you have a blown gasket. Mine did the same thing until I fixed it.

2. Check the IAC sensor in the TB. It is on the back side of the TB. Especially if you have a blown gasket, the IAC sensor will get gunked up from the oil. Remove it and clean it.

3. Clogged or dirty fuel filter. It is located on the inside of the driver side frame rail.

Chances are pretty good it is the belly pan gasket. Check your plugs as well, and replace if necessary. Autolite 3923s work well, gapped to .035. Also check your IAT sensor, which is screwed into the intake on the passenger side. If your gasket is blown, this too will get gunked up.

I have a 1992 Dodge Dakota 3.9l V6. I have all of the wiring
done and got the headlight to work but none of the maker
lights work. Both the from and rear don’t work. Are they all
grounded together? Where is the ground? Any help? Also the
all of the fuses in the fuse block have power except for one.
#13 fuse has no power. Any help would be great.

I HAVE A 1992 Dodge Dakota 4 Wheel Drive pickup. I
hit a telephone poll december 2nd 2017 . The frame
wasnt bent but there was several things that
needed to be replaced. My truck was still running
after accident. Iwas only going 30 miles a hour.
All parts now replaced but my truck turns over but
it wont start. my mechanic said it was probably
the crank shaft sensus. If anyone has had similar
problem please help.
