Does anyone know if ALL 2001 and newer Dak's come with the 68mm throttle body. I have searched several sites and haven't found anything solid. Also does anyone know if ALL of the 2003's and newer come with the H.O. Intake? This is of course for the 4.7. Any help would be much appreciated. Thanx

'00 is only year for 65 mm TB. The older HO intake was HO specific; '03 up is the same manifold for the regular 4.7 and HO. Might be a misnomer to call it HO, but sounds like its better than the original regular manifold. It would be interesting to see someone dyno the three different manifolds on the same motor; wondering if its worth changing to new style myself.

Thanx man, I thought the answer to both my questions was yes. The reason I am interested in the '03 and newer intake is dyno charts show it doesn't loose low end torque or move the power band up in the spectrum about 500 rpm. And for the 68mm TB, it just makes sense with everything else I have, and I think I found them both for around $95 bucks each.....

If you are going to get a larger thottle body get an after market ported one. The 68mm OEM throttle body is actually only about 65mm because of restrictions in the TB. Check out thefastman.com, F&Bthrottlebodies.com, and BBKperformance.com. They all make throttle bodies for the 4.7L.

As for the manifold, its not just a straight swap in on to the '00's. You'll have to do some midifying to the PCV tubing to make it fit a different sized valve as well as a different length tubing. The IAT sensor is also different. Your best bet for that is to thread a hole into you intake so you IAT sensor can be threaded into the hole. Or if you want an after market intake call 360airintakez and they will thread the hole for you. Or you could go buy a new IAT (very cheap) and attach it. The newer kind are plug in not thread in.

Or if you go with stock TB, don't go too new - they changed something in '02 or '03. I know an '01 will work.

this upgrade sounds great but will it do what my cold air intake did? make me lose 2000rpm and below power. 3000 and up seems better but how bout that throttle body, what will it do off the line??

In 2003 they changed the throttle body structure. Unfortunatly i learned this from experience after buying a F&B. I sent it back and bought a Fastman true 68mm.

I didn't notice any loss of low end torque with change to ported stock 68 mm.

thanks for the advise, I already relocated my IAT to the K&N intake. And as for the PCV valve and tubing, I didnt know about that, but as it turns out, I broke the PCV valve the other day and it needs replacing anyways. Again thanks for the head's up ahead of time.
