I just bought a 2004 4.7L Dakota and am beginning the process of adding aftermarket products and was wondering if anyone had any good suggestions for a new exhaust.
I have heard that Gibson's are ok, but rust out quickly. Spintech has been suggested, but i don't know. i was thinking of going with either a dynomax or magnaflow cat back system, leaning more toward the dynomax.
I want power of course, but i want great sound as well. i want my truck to sound mean!!!
Let me know
thanks

Logan: Check out MBRP exhaust. I have their split dual stainless system on my 2001 dakota regular cab 4.7 5spd standard. I just can't stop driving my truck because it sounds so good. Listen to the sound clip and see what you think. Their systems are on sale right now as well. Check them out at www.mbrp.com.

Holy Cow!!!!
That sounds great!!
Thanks for the advice. i went to the quarter mile track the other week and was disappointed because i did not hear one truck that sounded mean. Most just had a mellow, "polite" exhaust.
By the way, did you have to remove the spare tire to install the duals?

I did at first, but with some stubborness I forced it back in place .My truck has the 16" rims, but the spare tire is actually taller than the other four. The tires are P255 65R 16's, while the spare is a P245 75R 16. The tail pipes JUST clear the spare. If the spare was the same size as the other four it would clear without any problems. I did have to remove the factory reciever hitch, as the tailpipe hangers mount to the frame where the hitch bolts on. The only other problem is that the gas guage seems to move to the 'E' faster since revving it to 4000 rpms in 2nd gear all the time sounds sweet!!!!!!!!
