Well I got the simulators from www.O2simulators.com = $25. Seemed simple enough to install, and I'm an electrical engineer so I'm pretty confident I did it correctly. Well the little light never came on, and my codes went from P0141 & P0161 to: P0137 & P0157. Which from what I can tell are telling me that no signal is being received by the computer. Which would make me believe that I received a bum simulator (perhaps I'm one of the 1% that return them) - this is on a 2001 4.7 by the way.
On a good note though I got the bright idea to just reset the computer before my state inspection = no MIL light for 3 trip cycles = PASSED my test! I was very happy,,,,just want that damn MIL to go away. I guess it's also possible that the power going to the sensor is bad too,,, any thoughts? I'm gonna check it today w/a Vmeter to see what it is.
