My buddy's Z71 did this about a month ago. Check ALL your vac. lines and return lines. He had one loose line at the back of the engine.

Does it run normally and then stall like the key was turned off or does it crank over slowly and start and stumble out? If it runs good and shuts off it may be a problem with your security system if it is equipped. If it cranks slowly, starts then stalls you probably have a weak battery. During starting with a weak battery, all of the power for the engine controller's memory gets pulled down causing it to lose the minimum air flow values and the idle air motor loses its base idle setting. You can usually keep the motor running with the throttle if this is the case. It also may be helpful to clean the the "coke" from the throttle blades with some carb spray and a toothbrush. Hope this helps.
