I'm happy with my Superchips hand held. Improved towing and around town performance.
I tried each of the programs and stayed with the 'Performance'. Fuel economy increase of just under 5% over 6,000 miles.
Only downside is requirement for use of Premium grade fuel (92 octain). I got about half the cost of the premium back in fuel savings, and count the cost of the other 50% as inproved 'fun'.

I found a group buy while researching retailers on the net.
It took some time but was worth it: $285 including shipping.

Have a great Holiday,

bad dakota,

Can't speak to hyperdhips, other than their propoganda wasn't as good as Superchips. As I recall, there wasn't anything to dyno results, &tc., and Superchips was recommended by a local go-fast shop owner I respect.

Jet: Check threads on this product. I have read the improvements are in an extreemely limited rpm bandwidth and that in most of the useable rpm range there seems to be a reduction of power.

Again, check posts for some 'hands-on' data. By the by, the more used devices found for sale would make me suspicious. If they did a good job, people wouldn't be too willing to get rid of them, and I've seen a number of 'for sale' posts for the JET chips.

Good luck,... Doc

Jet doesn't have a very good reputation here; your price limit might be just below the cost of something that works well. It could help if you said what year and engine you had in mind.

Re.: VIN lock of Superchips

I just got an e-mail from Brian McMahan with Superchips who indiacted: 'As long as you take your vehicle back to stock before selling it (the programmer) you should be fine'.

My bad, or misinformed.

If I were you I would get the best!
Mopar is good but you can get a PCM reflashed for your specific aplication(street mild, wild, supercharger, high duration camshaft, etc...

In my opinion, sometimes you can pay more to have the best!If you donīt have, wait until you are able to make it. Itīs worth it and you will not be disapointed.

I paid less on my powerdyne supercharger and got very poor performance.... Thatīs sad. I dream with the Vortech T-trim every night, but itīs done, Itīs over for a while for me..

Not saying that the more expensive is always the best, but a good research like you are doing is everything these days. Be patient and you will be fine!
Good luck!
