Does anyone know where I can find a 50 series split rear exhaust system by flowmaster? I can find some by Gibson but none by flowmaster. Thanx.

I thought they were pretty common, I have one and last time at the muffler shop they were installing one on a Blazer. Are you looking to to buy one online?

They sell almost every model of flowmaster, even your 50 series split.

The flowmaster 40 series is a really good sounding muffler with a deep tone. The 50 series is also a good muffler, but the tome is slightly less than that of the 40 series. I like the 40 series that I have on my truck, but some people think that they are too loud. If you want a real aggressive sound, go with the 40, if you want a milder tone with a good grumble, go with the 50 series.

Go with the american thuder series deep and loud many people look past it though has alot on interior noise.

I thought about how mothers feed their babies with tiny little spoons and forks, so I wondered what do Chinese mothers use? Toothpicks?

Dakota53: "True duals" means a separate pipe running from the exhaust manifold all the way to the end. This usually means a cat. converter and muffler for each pipe. To get peak torque, you need a balance/crossover tube between the pipes. For simplicity, cost and underbody room, most Dak owners opt for a "cat-back", or a single muffler with two exits to start dual tailpipes from. My personal favorite is the Flowmaster 70, which has roughly the exterior sound of a 50 series, without interior resonance.

Carina....I would look to spend around 250-300 bucks on a flowmaster exhaust. You can go to alot of muffler shops that carry Flowmaster mufflers, and have them run your dual tail pipes. It would probably be cheaper than buying a Flowmaster system.

Jim, it's 2 1/2" if it's like my '03

I'm still loving my true dual 2 1/2" Flowmaster 40's

Put it this way. Everytime some kid that watched "The fast and the furious" drives by and hears it, he revs his bumble bee fart can machine and tries to race me.

Obviously, just the sound of my truck strikes a nerve in those little fackers!

'01 motorsport - I guess "true duals" can ,mean different things to different people. To me, it would mean the factory y-pipe has been eliminated and replaced with dual exhaust. I'd consider an exhaust like that with an x-pipe to still be a true dual system, and with properly sized pipe, could out flow what you describe.

You're right, Kowalski. Easiest give-away would be dual mufflers and/or cat. cons. The x-pipe connector would give the least restriction. I did have a Ram Van 318 once with a balance pipe or "torque tube" between the true duals. Minor results difference. It would seem that a street driven vehicle with large enough pipe diameter on "stand-alone" true duals would perform just as well. I guess that is is a dyno/split hairs issue.

Yeah, just a minor difference with properly sized pipes. Figured you'd be aware of it, just thought the new guys should know that's a decent dual system too.

thanks graphite, cant wait till it warms up a little in ny so i can do this.....true duals are nice but you should increase on your intake too if your really gonna put them to use, the reason of an x pipe they say is to increase on your midrange hp.
