i was crazy enough to purchase the autodry system by mr. clean. it does a good job at being spotfree however, the car i used it on had a chalkboard haze when it dried.

I have used the system on my black '00 about 4 times now and have only had good results. No haze or water spots. I use it because being a black truck the water normally dries before you can get to it with a shammy. I would check the sponge or possibly you got a bad kit.

i have used auto dry on my black 2003 r/t at least 10 times. it does a great job. remember the filter that comes with kit is only good for 3 washes so you need to check that and buy extras(which are good for 10 washes dependent on how bad your water is).I washed my truck last week and a neighbor stopped by and asked what i thought. i just said look because i just rinsed. he was impressed. also remember you have to use the special soap that comes with it or the machine may get screwed up.

i used it on my old dak (98 rc 3.9) and i have yet to use it on my (00 cc 4.7L 4x4) truck.. it worked pretty good on the other dak, i still kept my chamois handy for water that ran out from the mirrors etc..... i never did get a spot though!

Spotless everytime. I think it actually cuts down on fine swirl marks by avoiding towel drying. I do once in a while get a fine haze on the truck afterwards, but only once in a while.

I bought one and thought it was OK, but not great. I had less spotting, but there are still spots and a haze. This is with a brand new filter. Plus the filtered water rinse is such low pressure that I could just dry the truck in less time than it takes to rinse the thing. Also make sure you have a bucket of clean water to rinse the sponge off in.

I wouldn't spend the money again. The filter and "special" soap add up to about $1 per wash.

Ted

I purchased it too. It's awesome, I love the results, didn't leave any film on my truck.

A couple of notes: the soap that comes with the kit doesn't only perform better in the dispenser, it is necessary for the "spot free" dry-off. I use it and love it. I still use my Zaino finish enhancer most often after it does dry. Nothing will make the finish as clean and slick as the Zaino - or Meguires - I think I spelled that incorrectly, oops. I get the "chalk" at times too, but I think it is when I use too much soap. So, now I use minimal soap, and I do mean minimal, and haven't had the trouble for awhile. Also: the filter is good until it doesn't work anymore. I wouldn't go by the number of uses. We all have different water and that is what makes the difference.

bad dak, yeah everything you need is there. There has been some talk that the filter doesn't last very long though.

I say go for it. It's cheap and overall I hear good things about it. I'm gonna get one myself.
