Yes, and it sucks. it is a fuel cutoff at approximately 115mph.... I just figure they did it to keep people from running from the cops too fast... theres ways around it... you can turn your key to the start position, it kills your guages and allows you to surpass 115 but isn't too safe... some places like KRC performance sell computer units that override it too.

The rev limiter is set at 5300 rpm too, its another pain, hurts 1-2 shifts sometimes on full throttle takeoffs. In R/T's its a common problem. its set to prevent valve train damage.

Note that the feature is on Gen3 Dakotas and not Gen2 Dakotas. I have two Gen2 and have had both over 115mph with no cut-off. The older '92 V6 Dak I kind of ragged to death anyway, so if it had one it got murdered, LOL!

i think he/she means a fuel kill switch, that kills the pump in the event of a crash.... i would imagine so, but i don't know where it would be....

Auto Shut Down relay. Located in the Power Distribution Center in the engine compartment. If the PCM does not sense a 12V signal at the appropriate time (key on...looking for an ignition signal from the distributor), it will de-energize the ASD and this kills the fuel pump, charging system, etc, even the damned AC!

Ok ... I think what he wanted to know is about the rollover valve which is located in the fuel tank ... it cuts off the flow of fuel if the truck flips over ...... i know all 98 and 99 have them

They've been around a lot longer than that. It's been a federal requirement for quite a while now, though I'm not sure just when it became a requirement.

Funny thing.
A few days ago my truck would not start when I got into it.
I immediately thought my home brewed electronic security mod failed. So I pulled it out form where it was hidden and tried to by pass it. It STILL wouldn't start.

Finally I found a 10 amp fuse blown in the fuse box inside the truck! I DID have my radar detector attached to that fuse, so maybe it was the culprit. I replaced the fuse and been ok since. It's weird how one fuse kills all the relays for fuel, start, etc.

I plugged my security mod back in and it still works great :-)

No touch secret sensor, truck NO start.
Best security is HOME MADE security that no one already knows how to by pass.
It even took ME 20 minutes or longer to figure it out and it's MY truck!

I know this was a LITTLE off topic, but just mentioning how this stuff is all interconnected now with relays, etc.

I don;t know where the fuel kill is.
Early 90's Mustangs had the impact sensor to kill the fuel pump inside the trunk behind a plastic panel.
I know that one because this girl had one that acted up even tho she didn't wreck. It had a reset button on it. It must be there to sense a shock or something.
