Yeah it will fit, but dont waste your money. For what you will spend on conversion, you can make that 5.2 blow that Hemi away. Just cause it says Hemi doesnt mean much. Horsepower and torque is not all that impressive. Keep your puppy true to form, "MAGNUM STYLE"

Start with the tried-and-true basics...better induction and exhaust. This includes throttle body, intake manifold, injectors, heads (massaged for better flow or new heads with performance-oriented heads), cam, and exhaust. A cold air induction system helps too. Simply bolting on a supercharger will also make for dramatic improvements. Engines run on air. The more you can move through them and out the other end, the more power they will make.

I don't mean to piss anyone off, but the 5.7 Hemi Magnum is BARELY a Hemi. The combustion chambers aren't anywhere near as deep as the original (emissions), and the thing is designed to use cylinder deactivation, exemplified by the Chrysler 300C and Dodge Magnum wagon. IMO, engine w/ cylinder deactivation = poop. I think the new 5.7l Hemi Magnum is overrated. Nearly everyone that has one runs around saying, "Man, I got a Hemi! My truck/car is faster'n sheeeet, it's got a Hemi!" Or like the Dodge Magnum commercials, "The Dodge Magnum, equipped with a 5.7 liter Hemi; open it up from either end!" Yeah, open it up when the other 4 cylinders activate at full throttle. Otherwise you're running a 4 banger. If I buy a V8, I want it to be a V8, not some neutered one designed to get better MPG. If I want MPG I'll go buy a freaking Honda.

 Sorry for the rant.

The 5.7 HEMI is a bucks-up move, but possible. I even saw a '55 Ford F-100 show truck two weeks ago with a 5.7. The owner said the electronics were the biggest hassle (of course). I agree, with all the good stuff available for the 5.2/5.9, why would you go 5.7?

You can get a crate HEMI with a 4BBL intake on it. You can then put any aftermarket EFI system on it and have a super fast Dakota. Don't let anyone tel you that the 318 is a great motor to ramp up when comparing it to the HEMI. You can get lots of ponies out of the 318 but to get close to the HEMI's rating it will cost you tons of money where you already are at 345Hp (actually higher with the 4BBl version) with a stock HEMI

The HEMI screams as it is a high reving engine.

Once again we have a lamer on the forum thinking it's cool to imitate people. I personally know the new HEMI is merely a marketting-gimmik and sucks. If I went HEMI, it'd be with the original, assuming I could find one!
