Ya, Why dont you guys post up time slips for (Stock) Mclaren F1's while your at it. *Rolls eyes*... The arguement should be only between the 4.7's and the 5.9's... Maybe the 5.2's if your interested in hopping in but thats the extent... dont know about no S-runners... If ya want to start branching out like that... We could get obvious and start asking Who is faster between a Stock Syclone, Stock Lightening, Stock R/T,and a stock 4.7... Lets keep this reasonable and worth debating please... 4.7's, 5.9's no more no less.

There is a huge variance in performance numbers for these trucks. I'm sure a good part of that is due to either racing experience of the drivers or differences in tracks/altitudes/atmospheric conditions when raced. Unless they are all on the same track at the same time with the same driver - it's really difficult to tell what is what. These trucks are so close in performance that it just may come down to the drivers.

My '98 CC RT went 14.61 @ 94 mph bone stock. I've also driven bone stock RTs that run high 15s. As far as I know, my old RT was a one-of-a-kind truck. It had no rev-limiter or speed-limiter. No telling what else was different in the PCM.

On a test drive of a 4.7 5-speed I raced my 14 second RT and the 4.7 beat it! I was so impressed that I ordered a '00 CC 4.7 5-speed. When I got the new 4.7 it went 15.20s when it was 1 week old. 2 months later it got down to 15.0s - still bone stock. It went 14.80s (stock) with the only mod being a set of borrowed slicks. With mods, the 4.7 has gone 12.76 @ 107.77 mph.

You guys keep hammering each other on the 4.7 vs 5.9 issue..... it's great reading!

sorry just answered my own question...I gotta
get a turbo! have you had any problems with
it? did you have to do any motor work to
handle the boost?

No, I didn't have to do any internal engine work to handle the boost. Oh sure, I've had problems.... all self inflicted. I chalk it all up to research and development. I've always approached everything from a "cause and effect" point of view.... I can never leave anything alone and call it good enough. I just kept pushing everything harder and harder until something screamed at me loud enough that it had enough! How else would I know what the limits were? I've pretty much figured out what the safe operating limits are by now.... you can safely make about 10 lbs of boost and 400 hp from a 4.7 with all stock internals - no problem.

Duner I heard about your stock CC R/T doing 14.6 bone stock on the R/T club page... Thats freak man... how did you manage to pull that off? Just driving skill or what?

duner is my hero, I wish I had the balls, and
the knowledge to be the first turbod 4.7....400
hp!!!! no more competition on the streets! Just
hope that speedtweaks setup is just as
effective/efficient as yours!

what does the truck run in the 1/4?

I too am anxious to see what those guys at speedtweaks come up with!

This was my first attempt at building a turbo system. There's no telling how much more effective/efficient the speedtweaks set-up might be. I must admit that I had a bunch of good advice and guidance from some guys that I consider turbo/boost experts..... Maybe I just got lucky?

12.76 @ 107.77 mph is the best timeslip I have gotten to date (with 10 lbs boost)

12.05 @ 119 mph was the best Gtech number I got so far (with 14 lbs boost)
Since it's not an "official" timeslip, I don't really regard it as for the record.
I know from former experience that the mph always shows up as higher than the timeslip.
I sure hope I can get a timeslip that will back that up!

Speaking of the G-tech, form what I understand the performance meters from Tazzo and Race Technonogy correct for the roll out at the end to give track type 1/4 mile MPH figures. Anybody ever run anything but a G-tech to compare to the track to see if they work?

The thing I always heard about the G-tech is that is accurate than the track because it computes the exact force and pull of your vehicle as you move... the only problem is... you have to be on a flat straight surface to get it exactly right.
