Got a 4.7 04 Quad with 45rfe(I THINK that's the name of it.) Not used to these newfangled automatics after owning a stick 5 years. When I first got my truck and ID take an on ramp at speed itd give me that 2nd gear at 35-40 and take off alike a bat out of hell. Now it seems like since I have a lighter foot due to gas conservation and I do that a little less frequently, that 2nd gear downshift is no longer there for me when I need it. Do I need to start hitting it hard a little more often to re-acclimate the tranny to my driving style? Or should I just give up and grow up???

Should kick down if you'd just put your foot into it. Screw the gas prices. I'm not really 47; more like 17 with 30 years experience...
