 Subject: Starter replacement

Tomorrow my friend and I are going to attempt to replace his starter in his 97 5.2 4x4. I was wondering if there are any known hassesls or tricks that could make this evdeavor easier. We are doing it in a parking lot with minimal tools. Thanks.

I don't know for sure about your truck, but changing the starter on my '91 5.2 was pretty easy. Remove the two bolts holding the starter and disconnect the wires. Be sure to note where the wires connect so you won't get them crossed when you install the new one. Changing mine took maybe 20 minutes.
