I've tried lots of combos, I might not of had the best track times since I never had the right combo going but I do know what parts worked and didn't work at the very end before I traded it :)

This past December I ran a 13.56@99mph on a friends worn out et slicks. I know the truck has more in it too. I'm sure you don't frequent the delphirt forums since you no longer own a R/T but there is more than a handfull of CCs running low low low 13s on stock cam and heads with time slips to prove it. I like the srt4s too but I gotta tell ya, I've embarassed alot on the street. Never had the chance to reac one at the track.

That's great, N/A with no cam or heads running Low 13's? If so that nice to see! Yea it's not hard to beat a SRT4 if they drive can't drive vs a modded Automatic V8 :)

From what I've heard the stock magnum heads flow good as is and people sometime use them to convert there old Mopar engine to use them :)

But the cam, well even the 318 cams have a better lift hehe :)

Yeah maybe I'll give that KRC210 a try. I've gotta do something to upgrade the valve train too. I get pretty nervous reving to 5400.lol

Throw on some stronger springs, you'll have to either take them off or get a compressure to keep the valves up, maybe even bring the cylinder up for each pair. For the money I dont think R/T heads are worth it at this point. Not sure of the price but non-cnc port heads cost me around $1200! 15hp crank with some low end loss blah!

One more thing the KRC216 would be my suggestion with your setup, or the KRC210B second since they have a 114CL, the 112CL causes havoc sometimes to the PCM. I can't imagin a 110 or 108CL ekkk.

AnthonyG, your words of wisdom convinced me to put the 1.92's on and give it a try. Like you have pointed out my bottom end is not good. With the s/c it was still a slug untill it hits 4000 RPM then it's a ride. The compression helped alot.

Yea 11:1 is a little high, I have to run good 92-93 octain to keep her happy and when under boost I have to pull 2.5 deg out. I did pollish the head chambers to high polish so that helps.

Yeah Nice Truck! Too bad you sold it.

Eyetrip,

In your case, it's somewhat different since you have to retard your timing which really hurts low end, to be more cost effect you should keep what you have and throw in a stall or gears to get you past the low end faster into your sweet zone. Sounds like you have some stronger internals so 5800rpm shouldnt have to worry too much. Isn't mopars fuel cut rpm limiter at 5800 but shifts at 5400? You might have to shift with the column shifter to get it that high. It really depends which direction you want to go. You might even try a InterCooler to reduce your intake charge, hot air can really slow down your truck which I've seen happen to a few S/C R/T's but cold they rock. You've changed your Thermostat correct? 180 is good.

i agree with most all the statements on this thread regarding heads and cam.

my conclusion is heads and cam done right add 35-40 hp and tq mostly to the top end and some loss on the low end thereby needing gears/stall to help out...gears..heads..cam...there goes your gas mileage.

for a daily driver i'd go ported street heads or 1.92's and mild cam at most..but as others said..one club cab runs a 13.2 1/4 mile at 98 mph on stock heads and cam..great track and traction and all the right mods and tricks plus a little weight shaving.
