I haven't changed my oil yet in my new truck. With all my past vehicles I have always used Castrol. I don't think you will go wrong with any of the top brand dino oils as long as it is changed often. I personaly wouldn't change to synthetic unless you are going to keep your truck forever.
When you ask "Best Dino Oil" you will get many reccomendations. Don't use Quaker State.

Like handi2 said, any of the top brands should be OK, except maybe QS. Until I finally went to Mobil 1 syn. on my '92 Dak, I had always used Penzoil with great success. My '86 Laser Turbo, 5-sp, never saw anything but Penzoil and now has over 170,000 miles. Nothing ever failed and everything under the cam cover looks like new.

Before I traded trucks, I used Valvoline Syntech , I haven't travelled far enough to change the oil in this one yet. In my opinion, the extra cash for the oil is well spent.

When Dino oil ruled the earth I always recomended Castrol oil to all my clients. I blue printed one of my engines for raceing use. Prior to blue printing it was in my daily driver. I had 80,000 miles of autobahn driveing in german at speeds of 120+ MPH. I changed my oil every 1500 miles. When I was state side driveing at 55MPH I changed it every 3,000 miles. When I sent it out to the machine shop all of the spec.'s were within new part spec.'s and they did not belive me when I told them it had 80,000 miles on it. The cross hatching in the bores was perfect. It had been run on 20W50 Castol exclusively! Once I built it up for raceing I ran nothing but synthetic. Most of my clients drove BMW's, Porsches, Astin, Alfa's... so I always recomended synthetics and they always listened. It was not cost effective for my clients to come to me for an oil change every 1500 miles!!!!!

I also always used Castrol in my past cars as stated in my earlier post. 1 Datson 240Z with 200,000 miles, another with more, and a 280ZX Turbo with more than that. All with Castrol 20-50.
Driven fast in the Florida heat. Never did anything to the engines except change the oil. They just keep going and going.......
