Just disconnecting the battery cables probably won't fix your problem and may cause a lot more. If you do disconnect them, the alarm may go off if there is a back up battery. If not upon disconnect, it may go off when you try to reconnect. You have to find the alarm brain (under driver side dash most likely) and pull the main power fuse. Also might have to pull the relay or fuse for starter interupt if that doesn't work.

But I don't know why this became a problem for you? Battery dead in your remote??? In order for the starter relay to not allow your truck to start, the alarm must be in the activated stage. Email me if you need more assistance.

Eileen, you'll either have to find the instructions online to reprogram the keyfob or go to the dealer. Some places online offer free instructions, but most charge 10 bucks which may be cheaper than the dealer.
