I was testing my sure grip in my Shelby and noticed that when I had both tires in the snow they both would spin, but when on tire was on dry dirt and the other on snow, only the tire on the snow spun. Does that mean the sure grip is out or does sure grip only work to a certain point before all the power goes to one wheel?

It is a clutch type LSD. It is not a locker. It is going to transfer power to the whell that has the most grip, If you have wheels on diferent surfaces, the power should go to the wheel that has less slip/more grip.

After doing some more reading I did another test last night. I jacked up the back of the truck and left it in park. The information that I found said that if you could not turn the wheel then the LSD is working properly. I could not turn the wheel.

mopar LSD units are spring clutch designs.
that means that it will provide a preset amount of torque to both wheels. and if you give more power than the preset it will spin the lowest traction tire.

If you go and try the same test with dirt and snow, but this time just accelarate normaly. you will not spin your tire on the snow, because the tire in the dirt is really doing the work. the clutch is stopping the snow tire from over spinning.
