Yesterday I changed my oil, everything seemed to be fine. The oil looked normal for three thousand miles, in the pan anyway.. But then I noticed after putting the new filter on, and refilling the oil, that when I am trying to read my dipstick, there is white milky stuff on it. Now, i tried to do a search in the formum, but it is all about the filler cap. I wasn't able to find anything on the dipstick. So do I have a potential problem here? I am running mobil 1, and i change it usually every 2700 miles. But this time 3000 miles. Which technically is still good.. The truck is going to the dealer on wed, but I was just wondering if the people here could help me at all.. I heard it might be a cracked head gasket? Comeon this truck only has 30000 miles on it. And i don't beat it. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Don't panic, yet. It's probably just the condensation/ foaming deal we all have with the 4.7. Keep an eye on it, though. Check under the radiator cap for any traces of oil, as a cross reference of head gasket trouble. 4.7's seem to have decent head gaskets. 74K here/ no sweat.

Well thats a good thing. I hope it isn't a big deal.. I have had numerous of problems with this truck.. I don't understand what happened to quality anymore. Man I have a list of problems since day one.. I don't know whats worse, the rough idle, the hard shifts with the transmission, or the stalling in reverse. Its ridicoulous. If I wanted all of these problems, I would have bought a ford. :)

Sounds farfetched, but if you didn't get all of the white gunk cleaned out of your filler tube before you refilled it with oil you might have washed it down into the engine and this may be what your seeing. Dunno but maybe?
