I am getting pinging in my 98 5.2 70,000 miles. It does not ping when the engine temp is cold. Only when it warms up fully I get pinging under load. If it was the belly pan gasket, wouldnt it ping even when cold. I dont know what else to look at to stop the ping?

My 4.7 did this once pulling my sailboat.
I never got gas at that station again, and lo and behold, it never pinged under load again either.
Could this be your culprit?
