Hey all,I am considering buying a 04 Quad cab SLT with the V-8.I like the power and the room.It seems perfect for me.
I will be using it to go to job sites out of town in addition to regular everyday use.
After reading the posts on this web site though I am wondering about the reliability of this truck.I absolutely cannot afford to be unable to get to work since I am usually running the job.
I am interested in your opinions about my choice.
Thanks in advance
Tom

Even toys break down. (wont argue difference)

A Dakota is as dependable or even more than any other american car.(talking out of own experience)

But if ur a big guy and want to have a beautiful truck go for the Dakota. Its worth it.

Daks have their share of problems like any other vehicle but they're not usually the kind that will strand you unless you ignore a problem in its early stages. I consider mine to be as reliable as anything I've ever owned in 30 years.

The Dakota regular cab with the 4.7L is the best handling most veritile truck I've ever had in the woods and fields or on the highway. I have over 30000 on my 2003 AWD with nothing but standard mainentance. I use it to pull a horse trailer and haul 1200 to 1500 lb loads of feed and other assorted farm work. Mine's seldom clean for over a day. Get everything heavy duty you can. Its a great little truck.
