Subject: Wierd problems this morning!!

I have an '03 CC 4.7L auto and this morning I went outside and started the truck and everything seemed fine. I got to the end of my street and it stalled. Then it would crank but wouldn't start. I thought maybe frozen or moisture gas or something (I'm in Toronto and its about -35C with the windchill today). So after trying to start it a few times about 10 minutes later, it started and seemed to run fine so I kept driving to work. Halfway to work (about 5 minutes away) the temp guage went up to normal and I had no heat and when I pulled into the parking lot steam started coming out of the truck like overheating. So I went into work and when I came out tonight, I looked under the hood and there was some coolant on the engine and the rad cap (pressure cap on the hose) was loose. I tightend it and started the truck no problem, ran fine, when I got in my driveway it stalled again like this morning and wouldn't start for about 10 minutes then started and ran perfect. Anyone have these problems or have any ideas?? Possible thermostat maybe? But the no start problem shouldn't have anything to do with that. Maybe just a fluke? Thanks.

Sounds like a bad thermostat or you did't have enough anti-freeze and the water in the radiator froze. The engine got hot and boiled the water in the block. Finally the thermostat opened (the temp gauge started working) and the water circulated in the engine. Take it to your dealer quickly. Incidently, wind chill affects people, but not engines.
