I have a 1998 Dodge full size 1500 Van with 5.2l w/3 speed OD tranny. Since it is the same engine/tranny in the Dakota I thought you may be able to help. The OD light and OD keep flicking on/off for no reason. It will do it while it is moving or sitting still and at no specific interval. It also will only do it spareotic. It will do it for a day then nothing for a month. I took it to the shop and they replaced the switch and wiring in the stalk. It didnt work. I need some help to know where to begin to diagnose this. If I push and hold the button in it will stop once I let it out it starts again. Any thoughts?
