Subject: Stalling....help!!!!

Message:
I start my truck and it starts fine...then imediatly the rpm's drop and it stalls unless I keep on the gas...and whenenver I let off the gas while driving the rpm's try to drop but since I am moving the tranny won't let the rpm's drop low enough to stall...I've had this problem before and I cleaned out the TB and fuel injectors and it hasn't done it in a long time but recently it started up again....anyone have any ideas on what could be wrong? and if I do have to clean those items out again...what would cause them to get so dirty so quickly?

try cleaning the idle air control motor. pull it out and inspect it for carbon build up. clean it and ther port as neccessary. if it's clean but still does this it's a good chance that the iac is bad.

Just had the same exact problem you described. I ended up cleaning the injectors which seemed to help a little. Then I cleaned out the TB with cleaner and a long q-tip. Seemed to stop the problem but something didn't seem right. Check my plugs and they were all shot. 76,000! Truck running great.

well I fixed it...on the 5.2 there is a vaccum hose coming off the front of the TB and the little pice of rubber tubing that conected the hose to the TB was cracked...a trip to the store for a free piece of tubing and what do ya know...no more stalling...amazing that something as simple as that could cause a whole heap of problems!...thanks for all the input guys! now it's back to tearin' ricers a new one rather than two footed driving
