Subject: Throtle Body???

Message:
Hey guys I am looking into getting a new throtle body for my 4.7 dak. I am realy leaning toward a F&B 70mm, but I wanted to know what you guys think. What are the REAL WORLD preformance improvements?

When I got my intake from 360 airintakez I realy did not notice much of a stonger pull down low or up high, but I noticed one HELL of a sweet sound comming from my engine. Will this or any other thortle body add real preformance or do I need to do more significant things like go to H.O. cams (i don't want the intake). A throtle body is realy the only thing I can afford to do right now, and I have NO idea of how to even start on cams, so I can't afford the install.

Finaly, I realy only like the F&B because of the sweet billet look (I know I'm retarted) and the posibility of more high end power. But if anyone can tell me something else I will definatly look into it.

Finaly again, I need to know the PRICES of these things. I have heard that they are around $400.00. Can someone tell me a GOOD RELIABLE (*NOT Elitecustoms.com*) place to order one from?

Always Thankfull,
Ben

DOH!!!!

I forgot to say,

I have a 2000 4.7 SOOOOOOOOOO I have a 65mm stock TB. Is 70mm too big even if I decide to go do cams later?

Right now I have a 360 intakez intake (flows plenty)
dual magnaflow exaust
I cliped the TMR and it WORKS (mini shift kit)
and that is it for right now.

I plan to go and get H.O. cams or KRC 206's, but that is for later.

THANKS AGAIN!

Always thankfull,
Ben

68mm ported by Fastman is a good one. i have one and i love it!! i also have a stock 68mm tb sittin in the closet, so if your interested it IS for sale. i put down 222rwhp and 320rwtq before the tb with just intake and exhaust and tb spacer. soon as spring comes around i will get on the dyno and see what a diff it made.

You gotta ask yourself one question...That Thing Got A HEMI???

Midnight, I thought we have been through this before. A stock 4.7l engine puts out 180-190rwhp and about 230rwtq. Do you really think that with a intake and exhaust you got 90fptq and 30HP. Many people on this board have invested thousands of dollars in their 4.7l engines and are barely pushing that torque. ie DemonDakota. 250rwtq and 215rwhp would be about right for your setup. Keep in mind a Hemi puts out 270rwtq stock and even modded barely breaks 315rwtq.

since when do 4.7's only put out 230rwtq, not again, you are trippin! They put out like 270 consistently. Granted 320 sounds like a lot for just cat back and intake but not inconceviable.

you know it really doesn't matter cause there are doubters on any board so i think ill keep my $.02 to myself from now on. also although i have like 20 witnesses you'd prolly doubt that i beat a newer eclipse gs-t from a 20 roll by 5 truck lengths, along with a ws-6 2nd gear run to 50, although it was about only by a fender. but still beat a ws-6!lol yes i know if it woud have went from a stop or slow roll i would have gotten killed.

What is the climate like where you live midnight? I actually do have a TB spacer and have thought about putting it on just to see what it does.

Hey Ben... I sell F&B TBs *(and I do some work for F&B as well). Email me for a price, as you might need an adapter for your 360 intake (Probably a 3.5"-4") and I've got those too.
