Not on the 4.7L auto, at least not with just lil mods like this :)

I'm waiting for my PCM to come back home so I can go out and test this (hopefully this weekend it'll be back in my truck)...I'm quite curious to see what it feels like.

When I first heard about this mod I was playing with it on my 2003 Dak 4.7
At one point it chirped the ever living sh*t our of my tires!

But it also sets the check engine light right when doing so.

As for the videos go.

You should edit them and convert to either a lower resolution mpg or mpeg file or use a Real Player file conversion. Those work good and then you need to have some space somewhere to store it.

If you have any sort of video capturing hardware, it should have come with some sort of software.

I made a recording of our car for this other forum. I just recorded the audio only off of the video camera and then converted to a mp3

First, from my post above, my Dakota is an 02, not 92. Typing in the dark is not recommended...

Also remember that GraphiteDak has an 03, the one with the TCM funtions built in to the PCM. So his turning off the TMR signal appears to have a different affect then the pre-03's.

Honestly, I do not KNOW if the yellow wire with the green stripe is even a Torque request wire on my 03 Dak. It DID have an effect, but not what I got on our car. Damn. Oh well. On WOT these pigs shift good anyway. Not like our car does with it's Torque management.

Ok, I cut the wire and havent tripped any cods on my 2000 4.7L Auto.

So far I like the low end grunt and hard shifts. After i first cut the wire I noticed the tranny no longer kicked down a gear when I do an 70+ stomp on the freeway. It seemed to want to hold the OD and slowly climb its way up.

Perhaps I'll run a toggle switch and turn it off while out at the stop lights, and turn it on while on the highway.

BTW I have about 200ish miles since I cut the wire.

Maybe the gas mileage is lower because you are constantly flooring it now with the new mod! Makes sense to me!

Well Heres my take...
I went ahead and cut the yellow wire W/Green trace
I then soldered two wires, One on eather of the newly cut yellow W/ Green trace and brought the new wires into the cab. Hooked up a single pole single through switch ( Switch open Torque limiter disconnected. Switch closed= stock)
It really worked! No problems, Been about 1K miles now.Nice firm up shifts. No down shifting problems.
Just my two cents!
02 4x4x4 4.7 Auto K/N dropin home brew intake using 4" big rig exhaust/rubber reducers/Cold air in. IAT TBS Removed fan home made auto electric fan turn on. Other mod's

96 ZR1 Vette mostly stock. Dyno 407 hp 1/4 mile high 11's to very low 12's. top speed around 180 MPH Gas milage hold on guys.....27-28 MPG@65MPH!

I have a 02 CC 4.7 Auto 4x2, with FIPK2 K&N, Jet Stage 1, Gibson split rear exhaust. Should I cut this wire and put in a rocker switch? Will I get to feel a chirp in 1st to 2nd shift? Yes No?

Also... pardon my ignorance, but what does WOT mean?

Answer: Perhaps.
If you want better shifting try the mod. If you want to roast your tires.........Try a ZR1 Problem is the $225.00 per rear tire.
My 4X4X4 with its 3.55 LSD wont "Chirp" 1st. to 2nd. shift but really lights them up 2nd. to 3rd. shift>>>>> Good luck!

LOL, this is the first I've heard of anyone doing this particular modification...

I'm sure everyone knows that it's sole reason for being is to keep the tranny from blowing it's cookies right..?

Probably a good mod if you like having your tranny jerked out and rebuilt... Job security I guess.

:)
