Greetings Dak Owners
I have 30,000 miles on my 01 Dak cc slt 4x4 4.7 auto 3.55 gears,and the Dealer recommends a power steering flush at the cost of $99.95 (I live in So.Cal)
I'm 51 and I never heard of such a thing. What's up with that?
Can I do a power steering flush myself? If so, How do I go about it? (it's gotta be easy)
BTW at 30,000 miles I have had no problams with my front brakes or ball joints. How-ever I just had the front and rear brakes re-surfaced just for the hell of it.

I did a power steering flush just recently at about 110k miles. I did it pretty simply by sucking out all the fluid in the pump with a battery tester. It looks like a turkey baster. I doubt thats the correct way to do it but it only took a minute or two. I repeated it a few times because the pump doesnt hold all the fluid.

Thanks Mark, that's kinda what I was thinking. I just never heard of a power steering flush.
BTW you got a nice looking truck.
I'm very happy with My Dakota, I have always owned Dodges. They are not the perfect truck,there is no such animal.
My last Dodge was a 91 4x4 Ramcharger,I'm sorry I ever sold it.

What a cool site you have, Thank you for the info.
Now I know what a power steering flush is all about. I guess I'm not too old to learn cool stuff.
I have always work on my older Dodges myself.But when I got the 4.7 is was alittle scary. Your site will come in handy.
