Very soon I will be swaping a 360 into a 1994 V6 and I was poking arround the MRE website and they had motor mount kits to do this. I was wondering if i auctually needed it or if the 360 would just bolt up in place of my mounts. Looking at the mopar 360 block's it appears as though my motor mounts are the exact same as those, except I have no idea if they are. Any help will be appreciated.

the engine is an 87 TBI motor if that matters. God I hope I don't have to spend that extra $400 I wasn't planning on

I have the same question. I am putting in an LA 360. And I know that a magnum 360 will sit on the V6 stock mounts but will a non mag sit on these? any insight would be great

Sorry to ruin your day, but the Magnum blocks, as I understand it, are secured to Dakota frames with mounts that bolt to a triangular 3-bolt pattern in the sides of the block. Pre-Magnum blocks do not have these little built up pads drilled for the mount bolts. It's ironic in that the 360's in the full size trucks mounted using the traditional "ears" just like the LA blocks. Swapping a V6 Mag for a 360 Mag. should be a non-issue in the engine mount dept.

Ok, so the motor in the van is a non magnum LA block, so, if they use that block on the fullsize trucks in theory I should be able to use the motor mounts meant for one of those

after all the fullsize trucks did come with a v6 option

no, the v6 has two sets of mount castings. one for the dakotas (three pads in a triangle) and one on the front of the block just like the pre-magnum engines.

would I be able to bolt up a plate to my cross member and run it up to the mounts on the front of the block?

To further clarify.....the v6 as well as the v8's have both the side mount and front mount. These are the Magnum engine blocks. LA's all mounted with the front mounts, and DO NOT have the side mount capability. I'm sure you could come up with some sort of mounting system. Heck, racers use something called elephant ears which are plates that bolt to an engine with the water pump bolts. The other ends bolt into the front frame system to the left and right. Kinda drastic for everyday use, but it's an option.

Thanks for all the help. I finally came to the conclusion that I am just going to cut the van's crossmember appart and weld the pieces that the engine mounts to onto my frame, then I should be able to just go down and buy motor mounts for it any day of the week.

If that does not come out as planned i'm going to go with hand made solid mounts  good thing my daily commute is only 5 minutes.

Should work. Mopar kinda did the same deal with the Shelbys.
