I'M A MARINE AT CAMP LEJUNE AND RECENTLY BOUGHT A DAK V8 5.9 '99 AND I BURNED 4 QUARTS OF OIL MY FIRST 2OO MILES (THATS BULL). THERE WAS NO SMOKE OR OIL SPOTS, WHERE IS THE OIL GOING ???? IM WORKING WITH THE DEALER TO GET IT FIXED....ARE THE O-RINGS BLOWN?

The 5.9 is a pretty reliable motor. You need to do a search as there are many posts on this subject. The answer involves replacing the intake manifold gasket and belly pan gasket with an updated part. Most people on this post have had success with that repair. If you still have good power, I doubt oil is leaking anywhere else. Good luck in your repair.

take your airhat off and look in your throttle body with a flashlight...if you see a little puddle of oil in there then your intake manifold belly pan gasket is blown,,common problem.

Could also be that your valve guides are worn allowing oil to be sucked down into the combustion chamber where it is burned. This would eat the oil and leave no spots on the floor. Pull some spark plugs and look for black powdery residue on them.

Hey thanks for the diagrahm there cheif
and thank you guys for the help. The problem was the "Plenum" gasket I'm not sure but the dealer fixed it, it cost them 900$ to fix though.

Damn I want to work for that dealership. It shouldn't cost anywhere near 900 bucks to fix. figure 65 for the gaskets from a dealer. 4 hours to install. thats only like 208 bucks an hour

Yeah the dealer actualy paid that much from another dealership. I bought from a toyota dealership in jacksonville, nc they sent it to national dodge another dealership in J-ville. I didn't care how much it was cause I didn't pay a damn thing ,Can't get blood from a turnip right?
