Was behind an R/T yesterday and it had markings that said SS R/T on the side and back. Anyone ever seen this or did the owner get some stickers and add his own?

Hammers, what you indeed saw was stock, although you mis-read it. Many Dodge RAMs after 1996 had the perfomance option called SS/T. This model effectively replaced the 1996 RAM Sport Indy Truck package which were painted Banzai Blue (same color as the Viper GTS). The SS/T also had strips down the center as did the 1996 Indy truck. The model lasted a few years and dis-appeared.

G -- I'm guessing Hammers knows the difference between a Ram and a Dakota. I don't think he misread anything -- it just sounds like someone's doing some "ghetto customizing" and putting on some "performance" badges.

true, if he saw a Dakota then it was some graphics job, that person should have at least gone with the OEM SS/T decals even though I never liked the SS/T name (just sounds too GM)
