Remove your bed and spare. Bet that would get you half way there if you can get the wheels to hook up.

You don't need cam and heads to get into the low 14s or even 13s for that matter. M1, 52mm F&B TB, K&N FIPK, B&G M1 flash, GSM R/T headers and spintech true duals(gsmotorsports.com), Msaine valve body, 4.56 gears, and Crower 1.7 rockers got me well into the 13s in my club cab R/T. Retard some timing and throw a "one fitty" shot on top of that combo and look out.

Damn I can't believe u got a 14.8 with only headers and a PCM. could you tell a big difference with the headers? i'm looking at getting those but i was going to wait until after some other mods

if you want to hit low 14's, i'd get a new exhaust system. dont get me wrong, the flowmaster cat-back is a nice set-up, but you will get twice the power with a "true" dual exhaust setup. i'm planning on ditching my flowmaster cat-back (exact same as yours) in a couple months for the true dual setup without cats and 2 flowmaster 40 series (single in/out).

but if u want to keep your exhaust, i'd go with the usual - 52mm Fastman or F&B throttle body, m1 intake manifold, and some harland 1.7 roller rockers. then you should be able to hit low 14's

Jared,
I believe the truck does that to help warm up the engine/transmission/diff. They all do it and its not a problem. If you read your owners manual it says that it doesn't shift into overdrive untill the proper temperatures are reached.

Location may have something to do with it. I have the same truck 2000 RT CC with a K&N air intake, MBRP 3" cat back exhaust, hypertech programmer and 180 t-stat and I ran a 14.73 at 91.65 mph.
