SST is a trim package on the Ram only. If you saw a Dakota with the SST badges it was put on by the owner. If it was a Ram, then it was probably factory, but don't think the SST came out till '94. The R/T is the performance version of the Dakota which has the big 5.9L V-8, 3.92 limited slip differential, sport tuned suspension, and 17" wheels. Only way to get the 5.9 in the Dakota unless it's a quad cab.

Prove it!!!! There is no mention of any Ram R/T on any official Dodge website, and just because someone has stickers on their vehicle don't mean it's authentic. The Ram R/T is nothing more than some Ram owner putting the badging on their truck. If you read the site you posted, you will see they are talking about R/T cams, and R/T heads as well, but these are all just Mopar names for their aftermarket parts. Don't know why they cal the PCMs R/T PCMs. Maybe you shoudl call and ask. But THERE IS NO SUCH THING AS A FACTORY PRODUCED RAM R/T!!!!

I actually checked up on a Ram R/T when I bought my Dakota R/T and the dealer said nope the Ram only comes in SST...sorry Need ;)

i was looking to buy a dakota and it had SST on it, but i asked hime what it meant and He new it was for dodge he just liked the sticker

Theres got to be someone out there from Ft Hood Tx,Dodge does build a RAM 1500 R/T for Mexico and you will see the around the border towns,If you pull up there Mexico Factory or dealers you can find a Ram R/T

Dude you can make fun of Mexico all you want...I doubt U'll be laughin when the 5.7 Hemi comes out. If I recall right they are producing that engine down there...guess if everything is so fake down there I guess you won't be getting the new Hemi huh?

I think there was an engine performance kit for
the ram that used the R/T designation (or was it
Magnum for the old LA engines?) but is was Mopar
performance not available from the factory.
There also was an article in a Mopar rag several
years back which featured a "Kiwi" coloured V-6
short box Ram which the owner dressed up with some
new R/T decals and such. The guy was widely
criticized for trying to represent the truck as a
factory R/T which he never did. As a matter of
fact he did all this to his truck a year before
there even was a Dakota R/T. The a mag a while
back actually had a letter to the editor about it
cause they kept getting mail from "SOME" R/T
owners who just couldn't let it go.
End R/T eliteism.

I think there may be a Ram R/T in Mexico, but you can also get the V-6 in the R/T package. WTF??? Also in Mehico, you can get a turbo'd Stratus R/T, and a Ram Charger(full size Durango).

Ya i was going to say what HSKR was going to say. My dad said when he was down at the toluca plant he saw some Ram SUV's.
Dakracer ya I live a few blocks down from the track. I could never figure those ram's out... Only thing I could figure is they had the 5.9 and a limited edition paint job on it... I dont know *shrugs*

The Indy Rams are pretty much the same as the SST's. They made the Indy Ram package first for the Indy 500, and due to the popularity of the package they started making the SST's.

I went to the Mexico Dodge webpage, like the us's where you can "build" a Ram, and nowhere does it list or show a Ram R/T option. Maybe they did away with it, or maybe it was something the local dealers there were throwing together. I'm not saying everything made in Mexico is fack, probably the best manufacturing plant dodge has is in Mexico. But it's one thing if Rolex has a plant down there making real Rolex watches, and it's another thing when Pacha's doing them in his basement.

There is no Ram R/T R/T means Road & Track the ram is too big to be anything of a road and track type. There is an R/T Dakota, I have seen some special order R/T Durango's however they don't come out of the plant like that. Ther is also a R/T Dodge neon. There is no R/T ram!

If you guys just get on the dodge site it will give you a list of all R/T Vehicles that are in production at the present... except the dakota R/T *shrugs*
It also has some of that SRT/PVO stuff i guess... thats what they call em.
