What's the latest word (CW,Bernd) on the 4.7 HO Cams? Dealer quoted me $87 each. That sounds like a great deal. Is it worth it?

Joe

P.S. Bernd you have to get the new shop open so can spend some money. Figures, the week I'm ready to spend, you're closed.

They are a cheap upgrade IMO. Gives more oomph off the line. If you don't do them your self then maybe wait for some aftermarket cams. Dealer will probably charge at least 4 hours to put them in. Wish I coult tell you better but the roads are not good enouph to do any quarter mile times and the nearest dyno only dynos durring the week. I would have like to see for myself.

3 hours but remember I am a Chrysler Tech with all the basic and special tools. Flat rate on the cams will probably be about 4 hours. Not quite just a bolt in you need a chain wedge to hold the tentioners from over extending. Things like coils, injectors, air cleaner ass., A/C compressor, alternator all came off or were unbolted and laid off to the side. This was my first time I have had the engine apart.

CW - I knew it would be relatively quick and painless for you to do it.

Piece of cake right?

Just nuts and bolts. I would take alot less time if you didn't have to remove all the coils and injectors to get the left valve cover off.
