My 2001 has suddenly developed a warm / hot starting problem. This is at about 31K miles.
Recently did a 30K service and changed the plugs.
When it is cold it starts the first time. When warm to hot it takes generally 2 tries, sometimes 3. So far always starts after 3 tries. By tries, I turn the key and it cranks but does not start. Turn it off and on again and it starts right up. Or if not the 2nd time, then the 3rd. Any suggestions on what to fix or where to look would be appreciated.

the concern you are having sounds similar to the 4.7 trucks i work on. im a DC tech in Plano Texas so heres my thoughts: Trouble starting;, check the fuel pressure. hook up a guage on the fuel rail, turn the key on and see what it goes too. should be 42-45psi. if not, then there is a problem. time for a pump. after the psi comes up on the guage when you turn the key on, see how fast the psi falls. if it falls more then 5-6 psi in 2 minutes or less, time for a pump. leave the guage hooked up, start the truck, it should hold 42-45 psi at idle and the same under WOT. if under WOT the pressure drops, time for a pump. see if that can help. it just sounds like what i deal with as a DC Tech.

My 2000 did this from 40k miles until 65k miles when I put in the HO cams. Then it always started fine. Traded it in at 85K miles with no problems.
