I have a 97 Dakota, 5.2, Auto (A500), 9" Lift, 35" swamppers.

Has anyone ever experienced the engine revving up a little when the trans shifts from 1st to 2nd. 1st and 2nd is the only time it does it, mostly only on slow start-offs, only occasionally on faster-startoffs. The guy I bought it from says that it always did it with him to.

Also, it seems to shift from overdrive in to 4th really easy, almost with very little acceleration. It could be that it's just very noticable because of the pipes on it, stock exhaust may do the same you just can't hear it.

Anybody had these problems before

My first guess would be that your motor is having to work harder to turn those big (heavy) tires.

Check your transmission fluid though to see that it is up to the fill mark and that it doesn't smell burnt.

Good luck
