The general consensus from Dakota R/T owners who have them is that the Paxton Novi 2000 is the best of the bunch for sheer power, although the Vortech model comes highly recommended as well. The Powerdyne is the entry-level bang for the buck model, the Kenne Bell is good for low-end grunt but I've heard mixed results from owners as far as tuning goes, and the ATI model has a good blower unit but almost everyone agrees the intercooler setup sucks (location problems).

I have a '03 QC with a 5.9 and Vortech supercharger. I am also running water/alcohol injection with it. I am very happy with the combination! It had no real impact on the way the truck runs until you are in boost. Then you know it! No track times yet, but my mods are:

03' Quad Cab 360 3.92
K&N air filter
180* T-Stat
Flowmaster 50
M1 intake
Performace PCM flash
Vortech supercharger @9psi
Crane ignition with boost retard
Water/alcohol injection
Removed radiator flap
Autolite 3923's
Ram-air hood (removed hood springs and added prop rod)
Synthetic oil

I have a group buy set up with B&G. Price is $430 which includes return shipping. Look in the group buy section under "Mopar PCM".

Scott,

What boost levels are you seeing under 3K rpms? How about between 3-5K rpms? At what rpm do you see full boost? Thanks

Eli

The boost does peak at higher rpms, but it is pretty quick to respond. The valve is controlled by vacuum and you can punch it and product boost almost instantaneoulsy. I do have a blue LED that indicates when the water/alcohol injection is on which starts at 5psi. Even moving up in traffic I have seen the LED come on. Hard to correlate the boost levels with rpm since I don't spend that much time in boost (and when you are in boost you are usually paying attention to other things).

I can tell you though that the concerns about parasitic loss and "boost lag" are unfounded. I saw a mpg increase when I installed the supercharger.

Hope this helps. Maybe I will stick a video camera on my gauages and get some correlation.

Scott
