Duralube and Prolong contain highly chlorinated paraffins, which can demonstrate some incredible EP lubricating properties. However, as with any chlorinated parafiin (CP), they will wind up generating acids in your engine that will ultimately attack bearing surfaces (and just about everything else). CP's are used in paints, adhesives, caulks & sealants . Doesn't sound like something we want in our engine.
Bottom Line --- More Snake Oil !!!

It is obvious that you have an inferiority complex. Or, is it that you are not as knowledgable as I am ... which makes you resort to childish posts? I am not the "know all" of lubricants and filtration ... but I have been studying the industry for 4+ years with over 100 hours of classroom instruction.
I offer assistance. What do you add that is positive?

It all started at the chevy dealer
I always loved my old 93 v6, but the time came... the trans locked up in reverse and I drove it home like that. When I tore the trans out and apart, I found a stupid ball slipped out of place and I didn't have to rip it apart for that! I was not happy because it started to rain when I had the trans apart. So I slapped it together and off on the hunt for an R/T I went..... I've bin doing research on the R/T for about 6 months before I went to go look for one. I spent 3weeks looking in 2 states

Steve, please don't take this as a flame, but who's school was it that you attended? and who footed the bill or taught it? if it was in anyway connected with amsoil then I would have to hear that this product is effective from a third impartial party. I don't know if amsoil is good or not, but like at a state fair, everyone says their product is better than the next guys. Again, I mean no disrepect especially since you are a sponsor of this forum. But you flaming the flamers, isnt helping you sell your product either. Don't bait the idiots into a childish flame war, ignore them and they will go away. All the flames going back and forth on this forum are ruining it. And you as a sponsor shouldn't be contributing to that.

First, No official education (as in gasoline or diesel engineer or mechanic - degree or certification, though I do have a University B.B.A. in Marketing and Finance). However, I have a couple of Vo-Tech teachers that have let me sit in on (an participate in) their triboligy and engine classes to allow me to better understand lubrication, filtration, etc. That plus the Amsoil University classes (that I did not include in the 100 hours) that are a requirement.
Second, as to "flaming the flamers", well I have been a paying member and advertiser for two years. Usually I keep my head above the sewage ... but like anyone else ... sometimes I just snap (what with reading all the crap that goes on here at DD.com). My apologies to everyone, and yes, you are correct ... I should not be contributing to, or encouraging the flamers.
