Wen't out this evening and test drove a new R/T. Black fully loaded. Sad to say (cause I love these trucks,) I wasn't really impressed like I thought I would be. Couldn't believe the price tag either, $30,000. Payments easily in the $400-$500 a mo. price range. Yeah the thing was beautiful, and It ran alright stock. Still,I just can't justify to myself spending $30,000 on a new truck and then spending more to mod it. By the time I'm done with my mods on my 97'SLT ($8,000 used, 2nd owner) Drop in a new 360, a new rear end and some other upgrades and lookeeee!!!!!!! Got me an R/T for a heck of alot less$$$$$$

It's really sad to see how they jacked up the price on fully loaded R/Ts. If you really want one, look around for used ones, im sure you could find a good used one in your area for WAY less than 30k. I just bought my 2002 R/T last month for about 17k. It was used but in great condition and had low miles. Also, try to get a background check on the truck before you buy.

Yeah, I thought the price was way too high but that was the sticker MSRP on the factory sticker. I'm sure I could get one for less but WHY? Performance isn't much better than my 5.2 with the small mods I have already. I think about how much money I could save by continuing the mods I have planned with my SLT. Doesn't mean I don't want one, I just think automobile prices are completely out of control.

When I bought my 03 r/t I also wasn't overly impressed either but.. give it a few miles and it really starts to wake up! Mine has 3000 miles and is way better now than when new.It was rather tight when new and seems to get better all the time.
