I have 6 15 inch subs and 5 kicker amps , they say to only do this right to install they would have to build a box in the bed of my truck? is taht true?

This would sound correct. My 15" Cerwin Vega Stroker required a 5.25 cubic foot box so I'm thinking 6 subs of that size would require the use of your box. Unless you have a Quad Cab and want to take out the back seat and only use maybe 3 subs. Every sub is different and requires a certain amount of volume inside the box.
