With an auto, get a shift kit.... A more 'agressive' quick shift is also better for an auto tranny.

You can get a shift kit or adjust the tv cable. If you want to go the shift kit route I was gonna post one for sale on here today. Its a TCI brand new kit. Opened it to check that all parts are there, which they are. It sells for around $80, I was thinking $50 for it. I had to have a complete rebuild so I went with a transgo while the tranny was out. This kits will fit a 42RE,RH/46RE,RH/47RH.

What tranny do you have in your Dak? If its one listed in my last post then yes. You'll have to know what tranny you have first.

You can check on the body code plate, its on there. I believe you have a 42RE, but I would check first since I am not 100% sure in your case.

The kit can be can either be installed for heavy duty (towing) or street style. The street style will make your shifts harder and reduce the lag between shifts. Heavy duty will make the shifts firm but not as harsh as street.

I am very interested in your kit phoenixed. I have a 97' 5.2 that I am alomst sure it will fit on. I will be able to look and make sure sometime tomorrow. Is the kit realitivly easy to put on? I really haven't heard much about this kit.....I am looking for something to shift faster and smoother. This will do both or will it just shift faster but less smooth?

thanks for any input,
Ryan
